The email below has been received from Australian Sailing and the first part is important for you to understand the measures AS is taking to minimise its cost base. RANSA Squadron Committee supports these measures. Myself and other Commodores have been meeting by ZOOM forthnightly, with our AS Regional Manager to establish a common base for all clubs to work to. The result is the below email to explain what Australian Sailing management is doing to stabilise our clubs and the 2nd half of the email explains the roadmap in place for us to get back on the water to enjoy our magnificent sport whether it be around the cans on the harbour or offshore racing. Including online training which is a great move.
Unfortunately, the road to racing and general club use is untrodden. It is dependent, like everything else, on COVID-19 being kept under control. It will all revolve around infection rates as the social distancing rules are relaxed. Unfortunately, I do not have a crystal ball to provide you with definitive dates on when we can get back to RANSA, get our Prize night locked in, and the new sailing season underway. Please be patient and I encourage you to download the COVID APP as it is the key to the authorities relaxing the rules.
