80% Easing Of Restrictions For Fully Vaccinated

With the changing of the covid restricitons now the 80% double vaccinated milestone has been reached this is what it means for RANSA.

NSW Health Rules For Entering RANSA

To  comply  with  the  current  public  health  orders,  RANSA (and Navy Bear)  is  required  to  ensure  that  anyone  aged  16  and  over  is  fully vaccinated  for  COVID-19  (or  has  a  medical  exemption)  to  enter  our  premises. . As a consequence, only fully-vaccinated Members, Guests, Visitors, Staff, or those with a medical exemption, are allowed anywhere on the Club premises including Clubhouse, Cafe, Marina or Hardstand.

As required by the current PHO, a number of mandatory entry conditions have been implemented:

  • Mandatory QR code check in
  • Carrying proof of double vaccination certificate (digital or hard copy)
  • Produce evidence of double vaccination if and when requested to do so
  • Indoor capacity of 1 person per 4 sqm as per signage with physical distancing of 1.5m
  • For outdoors the capacity is 1 person per 2 sqm
  • Indoors at the Whaler Bar within the capacity limit of the room people can stand up while drinking, but given the small space we would appreciate if you could order and collect your drink and move out of that space to consume it.

New Twilight Ordering Protocols at Navy Bear

To ensure adequate social distancing and improve the flow of people through the Boatshed new Navy Bear ordering procedures are now in place, including the Twilights. To order a meal you will enter via the double green doors on the southern side of the building (Sir David Martin Reserve side) and present your vaccination certificate, pay for your meal at the Navy Bear POS station, and exit out the single green door near the BBQs (hit head here door). This will provide less crowding in the Deck area and allow for some seating within the capacity limits.

NSW Health Rules For Vessels

Rules for sharing a vessel have changed. You can also visit the Sailing Australia website for more details, but sailing is now allowed within the bounds of Greater Sydney region until regional travel is permitted from 1st November for those looking to sail further up or down the coast. However, there are no covid capacity limits on vessels any more, only the registered carrying capacity of the vessel.

Rules for fully vaccinated people

You can travel in a vessel with people you do not live with.  You must:

  • carry evidence of your name and address
  • carry vaccination evidence
  • produce that evidence to a police officer or authorised officer on request.

For children under the age of 16 who are not fully vaccinated, you can travel in a vessel with another person you do not live with regardless of whether you are fully vaccinated or not. You do not have to carry or produce evidence of your name and address.

Rules for people who are not fully vaccinated

If you are not fully vaccinated you can only travel in a vessel with people you live with. You are only allowed to share a vessel with a person you do not live with if it is:

  • an emergency
  • for a compassionate reason
  • to provide care or assistance to a vulnerable person

For children under the age of 16 who are not fully vaccinated, you can travel in a vessel with another person you do not live with. You do not have to carry or produce evidence of your name and address.
