Happy New Year to all RANSA members, friends, and RANSA sailing event participants

Now the results are in we would like to acknowledge RANSA members and entrants in the 2021 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race:

Congratulations to member Matt Allen on Ichi Ban, and to member Sam Haynes on Celestial for their fantastic performances under tough conditions.

Special congratulations to our own Annie Lawrence and John Whitfeld who made it on New Year's Day for third place PHS on Solveig - which won the race in 1954! and to Nathan Lockhart and the team on Navy One who reached Hobart a few hours earlier..

In the two handed division member Peter Franki and RMS special events manager Drew Jones came third over the line on Saltshaker, and RANSA Twilight regulars Wendy Tuck and Campbell Geeves came third overall on Speedwell.

Comiserations to RANSA entrants who didn't make it to Hobart this year in a tough race : Vice Commodore Les Goodridge's Wax Lyrical, Mark Gorbatov's Blink and Sandy Flecknoe Brown's Patrice Six, and to the Army Sailing Club's Gun Runner who nearly made it but had to pull out because of time constraints.

May you all now take it easy for a while - at least until the first Twilight Race of 2022 on 7 January! - and keep safe.
