Notice to Boat Owning Members
You will be aware that Safety Equipment Certificates normally expire on 30 June each year – but this year because of the logistical problems imposed by Covid restrictions we are accepting 20/21 certs until end December.
To prepare for the remainder of the year we will be holding a Safety Day on SUNDAY 28 NOVEMBER when RANSA Auditors will be on hand to carry out CAT 5/6/7 inspections. (Cat 4 and above inspections can be arranged by separate appointment)
Please contact the office to book your inspections between 1000 and 1500 on 28 November in half-hour time slots on a first come first served basis. Use the Cat 7 form here as a checklist and ensure that all dated items -medical kit, Fire extinguishers, inflatable life jackets etc are in date.
Fire extinguisher servicing will be available on Weds 24th and Thurs 25th so bring in your expired extinguishers by next Wednesday. There will be a charge of $15 for servicing and the same for disposal of non serviceable extinguishers (fees to be confirmed by Chubb) Note that FXs over 5 years old will be rejected automatically – date stamped on base or around neck- as will any showing signs of damage or rust, so please do not bring in damaged or old FXs. Note that new 1kg BE extinguishers are currently available from Bunnings at $19 and Aldi at $15.
Please endeavour to have your safety equipment certified on 28th Nov to avoid the need to arrange a separate booking later – book now!
