THE RANSA REGATTA 2024

Published Thu 15 Feb 2024

VIP Guests including the Guest of Honour RADM Chris Smith, Commander of the Australian Fleet, Commodores of the other Harbour Clubs, and sponsors enjoyed watching the race and hospitality aboard the Sydney Heritage fleet’s magnificent steamer LADY HOPETOUN.

The racing was close and exciting on the harbour and enjoyed by all. A sample of some of the comments received:

‘It was a fun day. Great handicapping when the winners in each division finished so close to each other. The harbour was a wonderful sight for three hours as the fleets followed their different courses and all that that entailed’. MAJOR TOM

‘Thank you for organising a splendid regatta’. DEFIANCE

‘thank you so much for a wonderful day aboard the majestic Lady Hopetoun and at the Club afterwards, it was a perfect day for the event’. COMMODORE CYCA

‘A number of people were saying how they enjoyed the event. Some even going so far as to say that they look forward to it each year and how this was one of the best’. CYCA Sunday evening

‘Once again a great event, well done to all involved’. RPEYC Competitor

‘And thank you and RANSA for the opportunity to race, party and buy raffle tickets!’ TRIXIE

The Admirals’ Trophy was won by the CYCA, placing first in 5 of the 6 divisions, closely followed by RANSA and RPEYC

Many of the competitors came back to RANSA Clubhouse after the race where  live entertainment by our own Kate Woolfe and her band made for a great celebration, and following a welcome from Commodore Les Goodridge the prizes were presented by RADM Chris Smith. Everyone donated generously to the raffle which included prizes from sponsors Sturrocks and Pacific Sailing School.
