Urgent COVID contact advice - Sunday 13th Christmas Breakfast Updated Saturday 19th

Saturday Update

Notice to Members

Further to yesterday's announcement regarding the confirmed COVID-19 case at the Club, and in light of the Premier's press conference earlier today urging all Sydney-siders to refrain from non-essential activity, we have taken the decision to close the Club for the remainder of the weekend. We have arranged for the Club to be deep cleaned tomorrow (Sunday) and will continue to monitor NSW Government advice over the next 24 hours. Any further updates will be posted on the RANSA website.

We would also request advice from Members, Guests and others if, following COVID 19 testing of all those who were present at the time, inform the Office of any positive results.

Access to dinghy’s, mooring and berths

Boat owners wishing to access their boat should register their details on entry either on the sign in sheet or use the QR Code, and with a maximum of two at a time in a dinghy.

We will keep Club Members informed of any updates and will ensure we are all as safe as possible in the current environment.

Regards and stay safe,

Bill Wyllie

Commodore

Friday Notice

Unfortunately RANSA has today been advised of a COVID 19 contact at the Club.

NSW Health advised that a person who attended the Navy Bear Café at RANSA between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 13 December 2020 has recently been confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID19) infection. This was during the time of the RANSA Christmas Breakfast.

We have since worked with NSW Health providing all the requested information using the registered Christmas Breakfast list of members and guests who were on site at that time. Navy Bear have and do continue to clean and sanitise the Club daily to COVID safe protocols. We have requested that Navy Bear do an additional deep clean just to be safe.

The Club will be open to members to access their boats for the Combined Clubs Race on Saturday and the Great Bar Race on Monday.

NSW Health have now published the following notice and we advise Members and any guests that were at RANSA during that period to:

•        Get Tested immediately and self isolate until you receive a negative result.

•        Continue to watch for COVID-19 symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again

While this has been an unfortunate incident, RANSA and Navy Bear have strong COVID plans and protocols in place to manage these occurrences and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our members and guests as a priority.
